The short version

Dialpad keeps doing what it does well: ringing phones. Contractor Systems makes sure every one of those calls ends up attached to a customer, a lead source, and a next step.

How it works in the app

Connected in a couple of minutes.

  1. 01

    Sign in with Dialpad

In the app, open Setup and choose Dialpad. You sign in on Dialpad's own page and approve access. We never see your Dialpad password.

  2. 02

    We start listening

We set up a secure connection on your Dialpad line. Every finished call and every text, in or out, is sent to Contractor Systems as it happens.

  3. 03

    Turn on missed-call text-back

Switch it on and write the message in your own words. Your business name and the caller's first name fill in automatically.

  4. 04

    Keep using Dialpad

Your crew keeps the Dialpad app. Calls ring the same way. The difference is that every conversation now shows up on the customer's record.

What's connected

Your Dialpad line, on every record.

Calls and texts sit on the customer record with everything else: the lead source, the estimate, the job photos, and the review.

  • ✓Every finished call on your Dialpad line, inbound and outbound
  • ✓Answered, missed, and voicemail calls marked so you know who needs a call back
  • ✓Texts in both directions on the customer's conversation
  • ✓New callers created as leads automatically
  • ✓Push notifications for missed calls and new texts
  • ✓Missed-call text-back, at most once per caller per day
  • ✓STOP and START replies handled for you
  • ✓Disconnect any time from Setup. Your Dialpad account is untouched.

Connecting Dialpad

What you get, and what to know.

We'd rather tell you the tradeoffs up front. Here's what connecting Dialpad does today, and where it differs from our RingCentral integration.

Pros

Keep Dialpad exactly as it is

No porting, no forwarding, no new phones. Your numbers, call routing, and Dialpad app stay the same.

Every caller becomes a customer

Unknown callers are added as new contacts automatically, by phone number, so nobody has to copy a number from one app to another.

Calls on the customer record

Each finished call is logged with its direction, length, and whether it was answered, plus the voicemail or recording link when Dialpad provides one.

Texts from the Dialpad app too

Texts your crew sends and receives in Dialpad land on the same conversation, so the office sees the whole history before calling back.

Missed calls don't go cold

A missed call sends you a push notification and texts the caller right away, so they don't move on to the next contractor.

Opt-outs respected

A customer who texts STOP on your Dialpad line is marked do-not-text everywhere in Contractor Systems.

Worth knowing

Text-backs come from our texting number

Texts sent by Contractor Systems, including missed-call text-backs and Inbox replies, go out from the Contractor Systems texting number, not your Dialpad number. Texting from your Dialpad number isn't available yet.

One Dialpad line per business

We watch the line of the Dialpad user who connects. Connect as the user whose number customers call, usually the main office line.

Need texts from your own number today?

Our RingCentral integration already sends text-backs from a number on your RingCentral account. If you're choosing a phone system, ask us about it.

Questions

Dialpad, answered.

Do I have to leave Dialpad?+

No. Dialpad keeps running your calls. We connect to it so calls and texts show up on the customer record in Contractor Systems.

Which number does the missed-call text come from?+

The Contractor Systems texting number. Sending texts from your Dialpad number isn't available yet. If texting from your existing number matters most to you, our RingCentral integration does that today.

Which calls are logged?+

Calls and texts on the Dialpad line of the user who connects. Connect as the user whose number your customers call. Calls to other users' lines aren't logged.

Will my phones ring any differently?+

No. Routing, ring groups, and voicemail stay exactly as they are in Dialpad. We only receive a notice when a call ends or a text is sent or received.

What does the text-back say?+

Whatever you want. You write it in the app and can change it any time. {business} fills in your company name and {name} fills in the caller's first name when we know it.

What if I don't have a business phone system?+

We set up a business number for you as part of onboarding, with missed-call text-back included.

What happens if I disconnect?+

We remove our connection from your Dialpad account and stop logging calls and texts. Everything already on your customer records stays there, and nothing in Dialpad needs to be undone.

Keep Dialpad. Stop losing track of calls.

Twenty minutes. We'll show Dialpad calls and texts landing on customer records in the inbox.
